WHO WE ARE
We support
resident mission families serving indigenous people!
We have observed that effective relationships are best developed through trust. With many indigenous people groups, mission teams that come and go lack the ability to build trusting relationships. Our focus has been sto support mission families that live in a region and are committed to developing lasting relationships built on trust.
ABOUT THE WORK
We are advocates!
As an organization we are seeking to improve our support and outreach as advocates for the resident mission families. In self reflection we see that we can all do more to help, and it is our desire to renew our efforts in 2020.
Pastoral & Humanitarian Support
The mission families live in the same mountain regions and minister to the Cabecar (indigenous people) to love and nurture their faith. They frequently take them into their homes and provide transportation to the city for medical care or to help with other needs.
Clinic
They have built a clinic in the local village and provide low cost or free dental care. THey also have mobile clinic equipment that can be brought into the mountains on horseback to run remote clinics. Their desire is to expand the clinic to add more exam rooms to provide other types of care, also.
Bible Camps
Twice a year Bible conferences are held to teach and study the Word. These are times of discipleship building and deeper study of scriptures. They study the New Testament and work with draft copies of the Old Testament. All of the ministry work hangs from the Bible translation work, which is the cornerstone of the ministry.
Bible Translation
All of the ministry work is essential to creating relationships that change lives. WE serve a God of relationships, who wants to be an active part of our lives. It is through the scriptures that we can understand the character and the will of our Lord. The Holy Spirit speaks to our spirit to give us understanding and discernment of His truth. This is why translation of the Bible is a critical part of all the ministry work. A quality translation of the Bible in the native tongue of the indigenous people is among the highest priority.
